Junior Translators (CSOLS) /Junior Hindi Translators Examination
SSC JHT Introduction: The Staff Selection Commission conducts a ssc Junior Translators Examination for selecting staff for various Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak posts in different ministries/ departments/ organizations of the Indian Government.
SSC JHT Exam Notification: The Staff Selection Commission issued notification for the Junior Translators Examination 2017. The notification is released on 15 Apr’2017. It has complete details about the exam date, last date to apply, age limit, eligibility criteria, vacancies, etc. Online submission of the form can be done through the official website. The exam will be conducted on 15 June’2017.
SSC JHT Admit Cards: Once the online forms have been accepted by the Staff Selection Commission, the Admit Cards of Exam will be released online, 2-3 weeks before the commencement of the exam. One needs to check the website regularly in order to stay updated.
SSC JHT Exam Centres: A candidate has to mention his/her preferred center at the time of filling the form. In most of the cases, the candidates are allocated the center of their choice; however under some situations when the number of candidates is in excess, then SSC may sometimes allot centers other than the preferred center.
SSC JHT Exam Dates: The exam will be conducted on 15 June’2017 at various centers across the country. The last date to apply for the exam is 05 May’2017.
·(I) Master’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree level
Master’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree level
Master’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level;
(II) Recognized Diploma or Certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa or Two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central or State Government Offices including Government of India Undertakings.
(III) Master’s degree from a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level,
Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective)
(IV) Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master‟s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.
Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.
Two years experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institution.
· The candidates appearing for the Staff Selection Commission Junior Translator Examination must not exceed 30 years as on 01 Jan’2017.
· Considerable age relaxation is provided as per the government norms.
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who has settled permanently in India before 01 Jan’1962, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

- Staff Selection Commission conducts a Computer Based Exam which is objective in nature.
- The time duration is 2 hours and the maximum marks equal to 200.
- There’s a negative marking of 0.25 in all the sections.

- Each section consists of 100 questions of 100 marks each.
The 2 sections under Tier-1 include:

- It is a conventional type paper.
- It comprises of translation and essay questions.
- It carries 300 marks.

The cut off is decided on the basis of:
a) number of candidates appearing in the exam,
b) the difficulty level of the exam,
c) the number of seats.
